Our Approach to Video

At Borealis, we consider video an important tool when crafting exceptional brand, design and marketing communications for the better of clients. Video’s ability to raise brand awareness and increase customer engagement remains unrivalled in today’s content-heavy media universe.

We believe the primary role of video should be to communicate a powerful human truth, insight or essence distilled directly from your brand. We use video to story tell this truth, to speak with honesty and clarity, to move audiences from a purely functional understanding of your brands benefits, to an emotional one, where trust ultimately occurs. Below are a collection of some of our recent video projects.

These videos have appeared on social media, in movie theatres and on TV. Every video carries the ability to tell your story wherever your audience lives and consumes content. For every video project, we ensure its viability across all your important marketing channels.

DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW

Our working process for developing video content and capture consists of several key milestones. All videos are different and our approach is tailored to best suit each exercise.

  • A. Strategy and Development

Isolating and determining the business challenge while building a persuasive narrative ensures video content is engaging and captivating. Solidifing communication objectives, key messages and supporting content is also developed at the initiation of the exercise to ensure optimized storytelling.

  • B. Storyline, Narrative and Creative Approach

After the video strategy has been identified and consolidated, a content structure, tone & narrative and script is developed alongside high-level storyboards and style inspiration. Identifying the right contributors (directors, animators, actors/voice) to help achieve the desired creative vision is then explored and coordinated.

  • C. Pre-Production

If appropriate, considered planning and organization that leads up to a shoot ensures the accuracy of executing the creative vision. Documentation of schedules, wardrobes, set environments and talent is curated to ensure that all parties are aligned for a smooth shoot day. Appropriate meetings are booked to coordinate roles and responsibilities throughout the capture of video.

  • D. Digital Capture, Animation and Editing

Shoot days, voiceovers and video capture is coordinated alongside our valued partners. Both client and art directors are on set to ensure proper content is acquired. Animation/graphics are developed and integrated if necessary. Rough cuts and revisions are produced until finalized files are delivered in appropriate formats.
